There’s no doubt about it, the Easter break is a great time to visit Kilkenny. Every year, there is more and more on offer – particularly when it comes to family fun.

Easter Trail at Castlecomer Discovery Park

The annual Easter trail at Castlecomer Discovery Park has become a family tradition for many. It’s a fantastic event and this year it will be themed using one of their favourite fairy tales as the theme.  Families (€10 per family) will search to find clues on 14 hand-crafted Easter bunnies hidden throughout 80 acres of woodland. On completion of the trail, lucky participants will receive an Easter treat. A fantastic way to enjoy the great outdoors and have some fun with the kids.

Annual Easter Egg Hunt At Nore Valley Park Farm

We have had a few friends and guests go to this over the years and every single one has reported it’s a great day out. You really do have to hunt hard for the eggs, so it’s a fun challenge for the whole family. As well as the egg hunt, you can enjoy the farm park and visit many different animals – including lambs to bottle feed, rabbits to hold and you can even see chicks hatching. For an additional charge there is also be trailer rides, crazy golf, a maze and go-karts.

Become a Junior Paleontologist at the National Reptile Zoo

With all the focus on eggs over Easter, the Reptile Zoo have created a unique little experience to give kids the opportunity to dig for fossil eggs.

Kids can use brushes and tools to find the fossil eggs in the sand and once they find an egg, they’ll receive their Junior Paleontologist certificate! They’ll get to learn all about fossils and eggs!

Meet Angelina Ballerina at MacDonagh Junction

Our neighbours MacDonagh Juntion are welcoming Angelina Ballerina on Easter Monday, 17th April. Angelina will delight customers young and old with a series of mini shows at 12pm,1.30pm,3pm and 4.30pm.

Customers can also enjoy FREE face painting and take part in our annual Easter egg hunt to win some yummy Easter eggs.
